We provide a breadth of services aimed to not only increase independence but improve overall wellbeing when living with a vision impairment. We provide emotional support, social groups and information and guidance.
Vision Support Telephone Befriending Service is delivered by friendly volunteers who will call you once a week (or less frequently if desired) at a mutually agreed time and day to check in and have a chat.
Vision Support understand how isolating living with a vision impairment can be due to reduced confidence and mobility. Our home visitor service is here to provide companionship on a regular basis.
Our social groups meet once a month at a local venue. Our groups are delivered by friendly volunteers and provide opportunities to meet other people living with a vision impairment in your local area whilst also taking part in trips and activities.
A Men’s Shed is a community group with the aim of promoting men’s health and wellbeing through social interaction and practical activity. Men’s Sheds are independent social groups helping men to share skills, learn something new and make new friends. If you have a vision impairment and would like to enjoy a game of bowls whether you are new to the sport or have tried it before then the Torchwood Bowling Group would like to invite you to join. The group meet at the Bradley Park Club near Wrexham. The group meet in all weathers from April through to September.
