” As a completely blind person the thought of using an un-accessible touch screen fills me with dread. However, thanks to smart appliances and tech addons they are becoming slightly easier for VI people to interact with. Items such as washing machines, air fryers and even some audio equipment can be driven by an accessible smart phone and various apps.
It is now possible to set the cooking time and correct temperature on my air fryer thanks to the My smart+ app and I use my smart speaker to advise me how best to cook my desired dish of the day. This makes cooking so much easier and accessible; I love rustling up a full breakfast complete with omelette when I know I’ve got a long day ahead!” – Keith
