This condition typically occurs when an individual of any age has lost over 60% of their sight.

Hallucinations vary and can include shapes, patterns, people, pictures, animals, vehicles and buildings. Everyone’s experience can vary and some hallucinations can be very distressing and cause confusion due to the vivid nature of the hallucinations. There is no sound associated with visual hallucinations.

Currently there is no medical cure for CBS but there are many techniques that can be adopted to develop coping strategies.
