What does a Steering Group do?

Vision Supports Steering Group aims to ensure the people who will benefit from Vision Support’s projects and services are meaningfully involved in their design and delivery.

Members will also review information from Vision Support’s Sight Loss Stakeholder events, surveys and focus groups and work together to identify priorities for consideration by the Board of Trustees and to share good practice.

The Board will consider the recommendations resulting from the work of the Steering Group and feedback decisions in relation to the recommendations from the Steering Group.

The Steering Group should include county-wide representatives with a vision impairment, a representative/s from the Board of Trustees and a member of Vision Support’s staff.  Members will bring with them knowledge and an understanding of sight loss. Members will need to be fully engaged in the process and have the time to carry out the work involved.
