Campaigning Groups in Cheshire and North Wales

Vision Supports Campaigning Groups seek to enhance, promote, influence and develop services and working practices to meet the expressed needs of people who are blind and partially sighted across North Wales and Cheshire.

Each Group is formerly constituted with a Chair and Vice Chair and supported by staff from Vision Support. Groups meet every two months and follow an agreed Agenda. Minutes are produced and distributed to Members.

The campaigning groups that are available are listed below.

Please note that due to the Covid-19 pandemic only some of our groups currently meeting in person. Please get in touch beforehand if you’d be interested in joining one of our groups.

Cheshire Campaigning Groups

Would you be interested in joining a local forum for people affected by sight loss?

Come along and discuss common interests and ideas on how to improve access to local services for people with sight loss

Meets the first and third Thursday of each month between 11:00am and 13:30pm at the Bluecoat Vision Centre, Upper Northgate Street, Chester, CH1 4EE

Macclesfield and District

Meets the first Wednesday of the month between 1:00pm and 3:00pm
at the East Cheshire Eye Society, 15 Queen Victoria Street, Macclesfield, SK11 6LP

North Wales Campaigning Groups

If you would like to have a say in the services you receive and what is happening in your local area, join one of our ‘VI Voices’ groups which give a voice to people with a vision impairment.

Denbighshire VI Voices

Chaired By:- Sharon Walters. Meet on the second monday every two months from 2.00pm till 4.00pm at Prestatyn Library, Kings Avenue, Prestatyn, LL19 9LH

Conwy Sight Loss Group

Chaired By:- Chris Copeman. Meets on the first Thursday of each month from 10.30am till 12.30pm at Room 002, Coed Pella, Conwy Road, Colwyn Bay, LL27 7AZ

Wrexham VI Voices

Chaired by:- John Ramm. Meets on the last Monday every two months from 2.00pm till 4.00pm at Room 1, AVOW, 21 Egerton Street, Wrexham, LL11 1ND

Wrexham County Council will be joining us to talk about the proposed changes to promote walking and cycling within Wrexham. Please join us if you would like to highlight any areas of concern that this may cause for people living with sight loss so that we can hopefully influence the decision making process to ensure that Wrexham is accessible.
