We are currently looking to fill the following positions in North East Wales and Cheshire:

North East Wales

AIM To assist in organising and running support groups and social clubs
OBJECTIVE To promote independence by encouraging people to attend social and activity meetings. Enabling people to make new friends and learn new skills
Tasks
  1. To liase with other volunteers helping at club
  2. To ensure that all needed facilities are in place prior to members arriving.
  3. To ensure that people attending are made welcome and provided with refreshments.
  4. To ensure premises are left clean and in good order[/accordion_item]

AIM
To help raise vital funds which help pay for many of the services we provide.
OBJECTIVE
To raise funds through collections or organising fundraising events.
Tasks
  1. Carrying out street collections.
  2. Carrying out in store collections.
  3. Placing counter collection boxes.
  4. Organising fundraising and awareness raising events.

Cheshire

CHESTER & CHESHIRE WEST ONLY
AIM To visit people in their own homes to help relieve social isolation.
OBJECTIVE To visit people who may be housebound or live alone, and ensuring that they are receiving any other services that they may need.
Tasks
  1. To visit people in their own homes to help relieve social isolation.To visit a service user at an agreed time.
  2. To help them go for a short walk, if agreed, or just to sit and chat.
  3. To identify any further needs they may have, and pass this information onto the Volunteer Coodinator.

AIM To chat with people on the phone to help relieve social isolation
OBJECTIVE To chat on the phone to people who may be housebound or live alone, and ensuring that they are receiving any other services that they may need.
Tasks
  1. To phone service user(s) regularly on an agreed day and time
  2. To identify any further needs they may have and with their permission pass this information to the Let’s Talk Co-ordinator to action.
  3. To liaise with Let’s Talk Co-ordinator.

RUNCORN AREA ONLY!
AIM To support Vision Support’s IT Trainers
OBJECTIVE To assist the IT trainer in group training sessions for people with a visual impairment. To help develop the service.
Tasks
  1. To assist trainers to teach IT to groups of up to 3 people.
  2. To assist the trainer to carry out the initial assessment and implement ongoing evaluation

Chester Area
AIM To support cyclists with sight loss to cycle on a Tandem.
Tasks
  1. To act as a Pilot on a Tandem Cycle
  2. To provide sighted guiding to Cyclists with sight loss
  3. To assist cyclists with sight loss by giving them verbal directions and instructions
  4. To provide clear audible descriptions of the cycling route

Chester Area
AIM To assist Bowlers with sight loss during a weekly Bowling session between May - September
Tasks
  1. To provide sighted guiding to Bowlers with sight loss
  2. To assist Bowlers with verbal directions and prompts on the Bowling Green
  3. To provide clear audible descriptions of each game
